• Jun30-2010--PPP leaders in punjab are so frightened of the dangerous zardaris that its punjab senior minister only croaked when asked to say kalabagh...he also complained that initiating a case in teh LHC against the former cimema owner(the most corrupt usually during the ayub khan reign)Hakim Zardari was an attempt to create differences with their sindhi PPP counterparts who have a generally low level of tolerance for punjabis anyway..the LHC CJ in a rejoinder asked the PPP to quit the punjab government when they couldnt represent its people...the LHC is not going to hang Zardari senior...who was fined Rs200 million by NAB... whether he paid it or not is not known......courts men itna dum kham ab nahin...kuch bahadari dikhao buzdil raja riaz...tumhen nahin maren ge akay sindhi... humari hi zindagi mushkil aur azab mein dalen ge......punjab ne nahin mara benazir ko...fauj ki judiciary or pathanon ne mara...PPP's Punjabi politicians are so frightened of the khuro-qaim jori of anti punjab venomists that they barely can state punjabs viewpoints on any issue...?Apparently Asif Zardari has asked yusuf raza gilani to stop cases against him and his family...so much for respect for the judiciary...!!
  
• Jun30-2010--The government which is only subsidizing special interest groups like agriculturists, lawyers, judges, journalists, disaster and terror victims(although a rape victim in karachi was tear gassed by teh governor sindh) at teh cost of the taxpayers now finds it impossible to export wheat as its local price is so high that a subsidy will be needed to attract anybody other than afghans...recently teh sindh government bought the CJ of teh SHC by paying his costs of repairing his flat foot from amrika...not a deadly disease or life threatening despite a bann on foreign treatments...our sindhi orthopaedics apparently cant straighten a tendon or rebuild teh foots arch...related news is the reports of 180 suicides last year which the PPP blames on military dictatorships...not on their price hikes and making life difficult to live policies...?

• Jun28-2010--PPP which seems unable to solve any issue is now trying to get rid of another responsibility...that of petroleum pricing in which numerous pricing chunks seem to be benefiting oil marketing companies and refineries...it now wants to give another 7.5 % as a deemed tax to refineries apart from a 10% chunk already allocated on dubious grounds...given teh huge financial resources available to the government it can easily control petroleum prices but now it wants to hand over price fixing to the refineries and oil marketing companies too...what does the PPP really want to do while in government...playing meaningless politics seems tobe their only interest and literally evaporating trillions into thin air without anything to show for it...

• Jun24-2010--In a move that showed that there might be resentment in the US army at a black president who seemed not to have everything under control and who was not an out and out right wing extremist control freak...Obama worried at resentment amongst his defence advisors fired afghanistan incharge general mchrystal for insidious comments about him and his vice president...Mchrystal who while moving to get things under control in afghanistan and pakistan was on the retirement trail and unlucky to be used as a pawn..Petraus who recently fainted at a senate hearing was back in charge...Obama backed out from firing defence minister Robert Gates who was also critical of his deadline to withdraw from afghanistan..Things have calmed down in the theatre somewhat as everyone prepares to play the after or the end game...Obama has been seen more as a pacifist than an aggressive overseas invader...has changed his game in the region from using force to economic incentives and sanctions..positions possibly opposed by the US army and defence ministry who would prefer the terrorism and control scenario to be accomplished..which could force the iranians to depend more on pakistan as there financial domain is threatened and border trade with pakistan remains there only option...pakistan too has some degree of control emerging over taleban actions as the army crushes areas of insurgency in the Fata...Mchrystal kept a close liason with kiani and was seen as someone who could be understood in the warlords fight in afghanistan and the karzai-pakistan tussle for greater control over each others actions...there were also some signs emerging that the US could provide more powerful weapons to pakistan to control iran and afghanistan once they leave while pushing india to a more powerful financial control status in the area...pakistan has become vulnerable in the energy field and was being seen tobe almost blackmailed by iranians into securing higher prices for electricity, gas and possibly petroleum products...iranians have been seen to be asking for dissidents who they than hanged in exchange for an expensive gas supply deal...pakistans shiite dominated government has been under pressure from the iranians and was literally forced to let the iranians mount security operations inside pakistan and provide information on dissidents...which many regard as a human rights disaster...

• Jun22-2010--It seems funny but apparently the PPP is now prepared to put benazir to rest for good...At the Benazir birthday party in Naudero the biggest painting was that of sindhi superman asif zardari...on the stage there was no mqm governor or anyone from KP or punjab...just two anti punjabi sindhis...so much for reconciliation politics..apparently it is a family issue only now..!!...the zardari speech was typically childish bashing punjabis and suggesting that the battered constitution was now like teh original...forgetting the SC willingness to force the country to a referendum on KP and other disfiguring constitutional amendments or even striking down the entire 18th as the people were never consulted and there is evidence that the PMLn was being blackmailed on teh issue...many are considering the PPP backing down from even investigating the Benazir murder the result of army and PMLq propaganda which have made hay out of PPP misteps...many had thought that by now cases would be in teh courts on the issues relating to Benazir and akber bugti murders...akber bugti was also closer to the PPP and was at a time considered a possible presidential choice...zardari also thought that the KP's now had identity even though as pukhtuns they had dominated teh countries labour force and intelligence networks...many pukhtuns consider being KP's insulting...many question if the pukhtuns had any identity issue given their aggressive nature...Yusuf Raza Gilani continued his subjugation to sindhis after literally reaching a seperate agreement on taxes on services which many regard as a sindhi attempt to corral more punjabi taxes like sales taxes on industrial products exported to the punjab...many say the provinces should be able to get a refund on sales taxes that are collected on exports to other provinces...many suggest that the sindhis pay no more than 18-20% in taxes and the rest are collected from teh punjab...many suggest that teh seperate tax collection issue should be settled on a country wide basis rather than individually...he surprised many by again changing the government stance for the third time in as many days on iranian gas imports by suggesting that any UN sanctions on iran would be enforced...many however believe that sanctions will have ended by 2014-15 when the gas supply is supposed to begin...many suggest that the government instead of working on and creating divisions between provinces should settle the electricity issue by starting work on another 30000MW of electricity divided equally between nuclear, gas, coal and hydel with small options for wind and solar... Sindh many say is exploiting yusuf raza gilanis suspect wobbly status by trying to seek gains outside the NFC which is generally regarded as a sindh failure after it could not create any major impact for points of collection...

• June 20-2010--There has been a big brouhaha over the punjab health secretary a lowly grade 19 fella cancelling a Rs 1 billion world bank project to distribute funds and medicines to aids sufferers...The NGO called nai zindagi turns out to be run by controversial PMLQ senator SM Zafar's(said to be involved in the Benazir murder and is now being called the chief PMLq hit man) son and the government has shown empty buildings that they have hired..it has been learnt on good authority that all the family of SM Zafar are employed in Nai Zindagi with the son getting a six lakh salary...apparently all the aids sufferers also belonged to the PMLq...and the NGO had no record on who was getting medicines and aids help...transparency international please check this at least...it is the world bank and NGO's that are corrupt not the pakistanis
  
• June 20-2010--the general feeling is that the Benazir ki photo hakumat is over given the terrible policies of the supposed PPP...their supposed reconciliation is also for themsleves as a debate in the national assembly laid bare their anti punjab attitude on teh kalabagh dam as the sindhis and Kp's fell over themsleves in trying to oppose the kalabagh dam illogically...their failures are compounded as shabaz sharif spends everything in lahore impresssed by the mqm's karachi only attitude..hoping might be international organisations will also praise him like teh dummy nazim of karachi...many people when asked what has the PPP been upto over two and a half years...they sadly comment sindh mein Benazir ki qabar bnwa rahe they shaid...!!others say they have been unable to build even a Benazir mazaar in over two years which raja riaz said he would build with the hard earned money of brickmakers...!!others comment that they have been fighting continuously with the SC which thinks that it has the sole authority to order the government and make administrative decisions...still others say that they have been sitting tight in islamabad while teh americans and Kiani's fauj deals with the taleban...that brings us to the budget which gilani said he couldnt change as it was for teh sindhis and that was his best effort..the budgest flaws and allocations were evident of the governments lack of committment and interest in financial governance ...electricity problems apparently have to resolve on their own...in the vein of waiting for allah...the government is seen tobe trying only to placate sindhis and mohajirs while nwfp is happy with KP and the baloch probably delight at killing a punjabi a day...others say they daily change strategies on how to deal with the SC's interference...many have said that the government is made up of fools which causes their erratic behaviour...one minister who is an ally of the primeminister who has fifty new suits made with a tailor sitting around for another order of fifty suits says they are reducing poverty by increasing prices at an astronomic rate so that the poor can neither eat nor want electricity...others say that the minister of interior has gotten the new suits made with bullet proof Kevlar...when u have kevlar than what is that under your suit gilani..smuggling heroin many say... the economists seem unaware that loans and taxes increase prices and that increases poverty...the phd in economics however thinks that workers salaries if raised to Rs9500 a month will increase unemployment...while a fifty percent hike in faujis/beaurocrats salaries will only trouble the FBR..while industrial workers have to work beaurocrats and faujis are just sitting around doing nothing...i think a higher salary will not make workers work harder but they might be able to eat a roti a day and industrialists are not known to lose profits over some wages..the result will be higher prices not unemployment as the same number of workers will be needed to screw a bulb before or after...many suggest that it is going tobe three years of doing nothing soon...todays news is that the americans have been warned that if funds are not available the war effort will suffer...this despite a hefty army budget...they apparently said go buy iranian gas...?..two days ago they said Holbrooke said the gas deal was an internal matter now he says they have warned pakistan over teh deal...

• Jun14-2010--As it became abundantly clear that the only function of the budget was the ayashi of the top governing elite and the armed forces...literally teh entire PPP contingent was seen to have vanished from the national assembly proceedings...the ayashi of teh government was symbolized by new suits and literally a do nothing primeminister...whose lame remark was that this is the best i could do...many said that with a president whose job seems to only be to fly off to karachi and dubai and a primeminister and army only interested in new uniforms and new suits...when the chief minister of balochistan asked the primeminister when he will stop the violence in balochistan...he said soon..and what do u think of my new suit...!!..??
  
• Jun14-2010--pakistan signs another deal with iran on gas supply which seems tobe openly snubbing the USA...with iran already having winter gas shortages and pakistan having severe gas shortages in winter the gas will be needed more for domestic purposes than electricity generation...one has always wondered why they wanted to include india in the deal...many think that the deals benefit will go to sindh which already utilizes most of teh countries gas resources..many think that punjab should insist on a lion shares of teh gas as teh government has already started to charge punjabi consumers higher rates on gas...?with the pipeline not expected to come on line for another 4-5 years its benefits in teh electricity generation field are at best expected tobe limited...
  
• Jun14-2010--ISI accused of massive cooperation with afghan taleban and possibly even pakistani taleban by an LSE study...many think that most operations in afghanistan are carried out by pakistanis and many are unable to understand the taleban reactions in pakistan in that context...LSE which is supposedly asif zardaris alma mater said that asif zardari had personally met taleban leaders to apologize for arresting the taleban shura and teh study points to at least 50 taleban leaders in pakistan captivity..many point to the ISI's supposed role as an intelligence agency and that alone would make them have deep contacts with organisations in the region...others suggest that operations are not the preserve of teh ISI and would probably have to be carried out by operational commands in the pakistan army..The ISI supposedly keeps contacts with worldwide organizations and is known to provide nominal funds to almost all liberation organisations and even those fighting friendly nations

• Jun13-2010--Sindh continues its crybaby attitude...this time objecting to teh NFC allocations and nwfp...it is teh ANP that inculcated the anti constitutional attitude that we will call nwfp what we like...so why cry about it...many people can barely pronounce the new name and find nwfp more palatable...i think punjab should object to telecommunications being made a provincial collectable tax...why sindh can and punjab cant collect taxes such as those from mobile phone companies which is literally telling teh account number in which such a tax should be deposited...taxation on services which are undefined sindh says is constitutionally a provincial subject which sounds quite strange...usually such services that are professional such as doctors and contractors come under this head but sindh also wants to turn each profitable business into a service..many suggest that the government has already taken care of teh tax origin issue in teh NFC and now sindh should shutup about it...in the NFC sindh did not gain much despite all its political hooliganism and that is what it is crying about still many think...maybe zardari should tell them to shutup for once...

• Jun10-2010--The CJ wants to discourage constitutional adventurism practised in the past by the SC, national assemblies and above all by military coup plotters aided usually by a lawyer from karachi... ...while coup plotters have unilaterally suspended, created new constitutions and abrogated old ones and amended constitutions at will...the SC including present judges have approved coups and constitutional meddlings by the military and approval of military coups by suspect natured assemblies and those hungry for power...The same can be said for the present assemblies and the judiciary with the military again seemingly playing a waiting game while others think they might try to bring in a retired general under some circumstances or might be another shaukat aziz...to control turning the constitution into mere toilet paper the judiciary must stop both the military and teh national assembly from meddling...There is no limit to the power of a national assembly if that is not done..assemblies approve judicial appointments in the US but that is thru proper review and public hearings...for teh court to make a clear decision it must indict coup plotters, judges, national assemblies for illegal amendments to teh constitution and it should start from itself and the most recent coup plotter...it will not have to go to the swiss courts to do that...The remedy of the referendum is to say that legality apart it must be publically approved which would be easy for teh present government given its support by the PMLn-PPP-mqm-ANP which could easily muster 50% of the vote...the only referendum held in my knowledge was an insult to the power of the vote...The court must strike down amendments which change the 1973 constitution irrepairably and start proceedings against those involved in constitutional amendments for personal power...the military coup plotters can easily be indicted while selecting politicians and judges tobe indicted would be a little more difficult...
  
• Jun10-2010-In what is being rumoured as a hair raising event the attack on a Nato convoy near rawalpindi was carried out by fifty assailants and the vehicles show that they were not using mere kalashnikovs...over fifty vehicles mostly trucks were destroyed whereas 35 vehicles survived..seven drivers were killed...the Nato transportation scheme is literally unprotected even by a police or army convoy...when such Nato convoys have been attacked in the past why such large convoys are run or congregated without any protection seems literally tobe inviting trouble...
  
• Jun10-2010--The government which wants to go on an uninhibited taxation binge/exercise for the hungry sindhis has ended the use of VAT and shifted back to GST...many were suggesting that sindh would have to reimburse GST for exports to other provinces which is what differentiates VAT from GST...Sindh regards GST on exports to other provinces as its earnings while it is paid for by other provinces...while an illogical mqm mna wanted even more taxation tobe added to teh budget to the tune of 1.2 trillion

• June 09, 2010--The CJ in what seems a sop to the unrepentant parliament praises something that does not exist nor is feasible or possible...he says supposedly partially supporting teh 18th amendment that the word freely was added to the objectives resolution which had been omitted by teh 1985 parliament in an earlier amendment...while no religion can actually be practised freely as everybody has to realise the restrictions imposed by a states composition of religions...The CJ however in opposition said that the basic document cannot be tampered with and that obviously parliament too is erroneous and not always correct or supreme...Justice Ramday went off in another direction and refused to admit that religions have been trampled with and minorities were butchered often although we do that to muslims too..some judges suggested a referendum on teh issue despite the nonsensical nature of the process...the judges like to make off the cuff remarks but usually are subjugated by the process...

• Jun02-2010--In what looks like a dangerous move viz the people and punjab the federal government reaches a dubious seperate agreement with sindh on VAT...Sindh which is used to extortionist attitudes about tax collections and taxes paid by punjabis will cause heavy damage to consumers as literally even small shops will be taxed by them...The government in punjab especially should see with suspicion teh arrangement on tax origin as a punjabi could buy an airticket or pay phone bills in sindh and with many companies having head offices in sindh income taxes and sales taxes collected from punjabis will be taken by sindh as the place where the tax is collected...Punjab should resist teh attitude of taxing consumers indiscriminately and it is the shop keeper who should be taxed rather than the consumer as teh federal governments and provincial governments do nothing for the consumer..abdul hafeez sheikh blamed teh rich people for opposing VAT when it is teh people or consumers who will suffer...the people have no power in this government and the PPP should study its extortionist attitude since teh people and consumers are not going to benefit..
